Egypt has reinforced its position as one of the ‘big three’ outsourcing destinations with an independent poll carried out by its ITIDA (Information Technology Industry Development Agency) and YouGov Siraj.

The survey shows confidence in the nation as one of the breakaway trio with 51% confidence amongst those polled, alongside India (85%) and China (62%). This is in direct contrast with other large nations such as Russia, Brazil and Ukraine, which could only muster 18%, 9% and 4% respectively.

The poll also identified Egypt as a key global hub for business, with 37% of decision-makers in the GCC region claiming that they would consider it as an outsourcing destination, compared to 31% last year. Egypt’s major advantages have been identified as its Arabic language capabilities, a strong business acumen and professional client services terms. aITIDA CEO Dr Hazem Abdelazim is thrilled with the results: “This research carries reassuring news for Egypt, as it continues on a long term journey to enhance its global competitiveness in the IT sector,” he says.

The news is presented as part of the EgyptOn stand in Hall 2 of GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.
