Kingston Technology is bidding to make its mark this week with its new SSDNow solutions that provide businesses with the most cost-effective performance upgrades for existing or new hardware.

“This year we aim to build on the awareness that we generated last year on the benefits of the SSD versus hard drives,” explains Antoine Harb, Business Development Manager for Kingston Technology in the Middle East. “We will also focus on the new HyperX Blu, our latest addition to the HyperX family, in our ongoing strategy to match HyperX products with the various enthusiast market segments.”

Kingston will be showcasing its products via the stands of several key distribution partners, including Mindware and FDC in Hall 4 and Logicom in Hall 3.

Harb says there will be a big emphasis on security this year, with the firm keen to prove how secure its DataTraveler Locker Plus range is for corporate customers wishing to store data.

“These drives are being made available to the enterprise segment as a more affordable solution,” comments Harb. “Also in the secure range is the DataTraveler Vault, where 100% of the stored data is secured by hardware-based, 256-bit AES encryption to guard sensitive information in case the drive is lost or stolen. And its durable, aluminum casing provides added protection,” he adds.

Kingston currently ranks as the world’s largest independent manufacturer of memory products. Its business is divided into four categories, namely strategic OEM memory; system-specific memory; ValueRAM memory; and Flash products.

“GITEX provides us with the opportunity to bring our latest technologies to the Middle East market and showcase them to a much wider audience,” says Harb.

“As GITEX brings together a variety of technology companies across the world, it enables us to experience innovative technologies and access future prospects. By partnering with our local distributors, we are able to leverage our strengths in the memory market and demonstrate to our customers our local support,” he says.

Kingston regards the Middle East as its fastest growing market, registering a 17% increase in sales in the region last year.
