Bahraini IT firms out in force at GITEX

The kingdom of Bahrain will have a strong presence this week, with more than 20 private sector companies exhibiting through the Bahrain country pavilion.

More than 20 local technology firms are exhibiting at the Bahrain Pavilion.

The kingdom of Bahrain will have a strong presence this week, with more than 20 private sector companies exhibiting through the Bahrain country pavilion.

It will also host the be participating the e-Government Authority (eGA) from the public sector, in addition to the private sector institutions supported by business authority Tamkeen in co-operation with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Bahrain Internet Society (BIS).

“GITEX 2010 is one of the largest specialised exhibitions in the ICT field and the e-Government Authority is keen to participate in this annual event which attracts a large number of local and international companies in the field of technology,” says e-Government Authority’s CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed.

Interestingly, there is one firm participating at the Bahrain Pavilion this year which is actually Hungarian! Navayo Technologies, an R&D company that specialises in network security solutions, is demonstrating its GCC loyalties following some major agreements it signed at last year’s GITEX with Bahraini companies and the subsequent opening of its Middle East headquarters in Bahrain.

The Bahrain pavilion covers an area of 300 square metres, more than twice the size of last year.
