Mobily to launch Cisco-based managed services
Managed services offerings planned for Saudi businesses
Mobily has announced that it plans to launch managed services for business in Saudi Arabia, based on Cisco solutions.
The operator intends to launch managed services to expand its offerings for all size of business in the Kingdom.
Initial plans are for four service offerings, two for managed data centre services - a managed hosted-server service and a managed back-up and recovery service, plus a managed firewall security service and a managed business communications service.
All of the services are built on Cisco IP-based solutions, and Cisco will also be providing support to Mobily to develop the service. Cisco has also assisted Mobily in building a data centre to host the managed services.
Khaled AlKaf, CEO, Mobily commented: "Mobily is already established as a leading service provider offering integrated and converged data and voice communication solutions for our customers. With the addition of Cisco managed services we will be able to ensure that we have a competitive edge in terms of servicing the needs of our customers in Saudi Arabia and ensuring that they have access to the latest and most innovative technology solutions."
"The demand for managed services in the information technology market globally is growing as companies strive to streamline their IT costs. The breadth of the Cisco managed services technology offering will help to deliver a unique market opportunity for Mobily. Cisco's managed services offering is designed to give service providers, like Mobily, the competitive edge that will allow them to stay ahead of the game when it comes to their customer needs. We will continue to work closely with Mobily to build and launch a full portfolio of managed services," said Wayne Fullerton, managing director for Cisco in Saudi Arabia.
