Etisalat to showcase innovative products, services and technologies at GITEX

Etisalat, the UAE incumbent, is planning to showcase various innovative products, services and technologies from its diverse consumer and business solutions during this year’s GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

The company will also highlight its international network and global partnerships, including the FC Barcelona and Manchester City alliances that it has established, providing an all encompassing view of the Etisalat brand.

“GITEX is crucial for Etisalat as it provides the perfect platform for the corporation to showcase its vision for the future by demonstrating new technologies and trends in the telecom industry.

“GITEX also provides an apt opportunity to highlight Etisalat’s three decades of experience in providing value-centric solutions to enterprises and convenient solutions to individual customers, all under one roof,” says Khalifa Al Shamsi, Senior VP of Marketing at Etisalat.

On the business solutions front, the key focus areas will be business connectivity, mobility, e-business and managed ICT. Shamsi says that he sees a huge traction for managed services and business mobility services in the UAE.

On the consumer front, Etisalat is to focus on the eLife fibre optic proposition. Etisalat is developing a nationwide fibre optic network with an investment of over AED5 billion (US$1.36 billion), and its eLife service is all set to revolutionise the way telecommunications service are going to be consumed in the UAE.

“The biggest trend that we see happening is the convergence of media, and broadband enabling that revolution. With eLife triple play services being fast adopted by our customers, we will see different traditional communication channels – the internet, telephone and television – converging and interacting in a far more interesting and lucrative manner,” explains Shamsi.

Other highlights at the event will be the Digital Media Services, Digital Home, and the triple play service. Besides eLife, Etisalat will also be emphasising emerging technologies such as LTE, for which successful trials are already being conducted, and multiple upcoming and existing services and innovative solutions that are offered by Etisalat to its customers, such as 3G Video Call, Mobile Cam, Mobile Broadband, Voice SMS, and Etisalat Messenger.

“We believe that GITEX is the only time when visitors to the conference, including individual consumers, business partners, corporate customers, government bodies, international subsidiaries, media and visitors to the UAE, can see Etisalat in a holistic way,” says Shamsi.

Furthermore, Shamsi adds that GITEX provides an opportunity to interact with its users and gain a better understanding of their perspectives, which keeps the organisation in sync with consumer demand and enables it to develop cutting-edge telecoms solutions.
