Advertising for mobiles is a growing segment.

Mobile advertising is becoming a force to be reckoned with these days, and India-based enterprise messaging service provider SMSCountry Networks is one firm vying to set this market alight.

At GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK, SMSCountry will promote its bulk SMS services that allow large enterprises to send messages to their clients.

SMSCountry also has the 160by2.com website, which provides advertising-funded free SMS services for the general public. It boasts nearly 8.5 million registered users sending about 70 to 80 million messages every month.

“Today, we are only into SMS advertising, but we want to get into other forms of advertising too,” reveals Nisha Parikh, AVP for International Operations at SMSCountry. “We are developing technologies which would enable us to advertise using voice-based applications and mobile internet,” adds Parikh.
