EMC's Mohammed Amin promoted to VP

Amin becomes vice president and GM of Middle East and North West East Central Africa and Turkey

Mohammed Amin and his team have grown EMC's business by 400% in the region.

EMC has announced that Mohammed Amin has been promoted from regional manager of the Middle East, North West East Central Africa and Turkey, to vice president and GM of Middle East and North West East Central Africa and Turkey at the storage giant.

Amin, who has been in the IT industry for 21 years, will continue to expand EMC's operations in the region, having already grown operations by over 400%.

"As technology evolves, empowering governments and companies to streamline their operations, cut costs and deliver more efficient services and higher quality products, our region is uniquely positioned to capitalize on innovations and smart IT solutions and fast track its own development," said Amin.

"I am proud to be part of EMC and have the opportunity to lead s strong team, to work closely with our customers, to help acquire the information infrastructure solutions that best meets their needs and achieves their SLA objectives," he added.

In the new role, Amin will continue to report to Frederic Dussart, EMC senior vice president, Regional Country Manager, Europe South, Middle East and Africa. Dussart commented: "Mohammed has brought extensive industry experience and superior knowledge of the Middle East and Africa markets. We believe that his skills, vision, commitment and expertise will strengthen EMC's market leadership across various product segments and industry sectors and solidify the brand's position in a region that is forecast to outpace any other in terms of Information and Communication Technology spend.

Before joining EMC, Amin held roles with major hardware and networking vendors.
