AqarMap.com offers online real estate market
Online real estate service offers location based property browsing for the Middle East
Sana'a-based AqarMap.com is looking to bring the benefits of satellite mapping to real estate sales and letting.
The company has launched its service to help overcome the problems of poor address systems in the Middle East, by introducing property listings which include map location, based on Google Maps. The service is intended to make it easier for those looking for property to browse by location and to meet increasing demand for affordable marketing channels for real estate.
The site is a mash-up of various available applications, explained Ahmed Abdul Moula, technology manager, AqarMap.com. "We use Google Maps for identifying the location, Youtube for the property tour, Twitter and Facebook for sharing the listing in the social web, and a set of other technologies to translate the content and convert numbers and currencies" he said.
The site is targeting both property sales and rental, across the whole of the Middle East. The site launched recently in beta mode, and attracted 600 real estate companies and realtors to participate and testing and enhancement of the platform.
Property owners can post their listings on AqarMap.com for free, and for a small fee they can promote their listings to gain higher visibility on the map. The company reports that the integration of map services produces more leads than the typical banner or text ads
Amad Almsaodi, CEO of AqarMap.com, said: "We built our marketplace by capitalizing on the Real Estate golden rule: Location, Location, Location. The price of a property is irrelevant if it is not in the customers preferred location. Customers can now search by location and find the nearby points of interest, such as: parks, schools, public transportation, and so on."
