HP to acquire Fortify Software
HP to buy Fortify Software to access software security assurance expertise
HP is to buy software security assurance specialist Fortify Software, for an undisclosed amount.
Privately-held Fortify Software, which creates software for security testing of applications through all stages of the development process through deployment, will be integrated over time into HP's Software and Solutions business unit.
The two companies have already collaborated on an advanced security analysis technology, ‘Hybrid 2.0', and will HP says that it will now be able to accelerate development of this technology to give clients the accuracy and prioritization they need around security vulnerabilities to build scalable enterprise application security programs.
