On average, Sahara Net's speed per user reached 4.13 Mbps, says a new report
A new report has ranked Sahara Net as the top internet service provider (ISP) in Saudi Arabia based on the speed of the connection.
The report, conducted by Netindex.com - which summarises results obtained from internet speed tests worldwide - rated Sahara Net as the top KSA-based ISP, with an average speed per user of 4.13 Mbps.
Saudi Net (STC) came second with an average of 3.94 Mbps, while Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) finished third, with an average of 3Mbps.
Netindex.com came up with the rankings following tests from 1,047,838 unique IPs taken in the country, though it did not indicate the period during which the tests were carried out.
Despite the results, Saudi Arabia ranks 71st in the world for internet speed and quality of connection, based on over 1 billion speed tests conducted worldwide.
The report also said that based on an average of per user, Qatar ranked in 78th place with 2.94 Mbps, while Jordan and Egypt ranked 122nd place with 1.59 Mbps, and 137th place with 1.09 Mbps respectively.
