Cable&Wireless Worldwide new DIC office will serve as the regional HQ for Middle East & Africa.

Cable&Wireless Worldwide has opened a new office in Dubai Internet City, to act as its regional headquarters for the MEA region.

The headquarters will support C&W Worldwide's customers in the region, who include a number of multinationals that use the company's global network to connect their corporate offices.

Ghassan Latif will rake charge of the company's regional operations.

In 2008, C&W Worldwide rolled out an MPLS telecoms network in the Middle East, including Points of Presence (PoPs) in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, to better serve the region, and the new office will aid customers connected to this network.

Jim Marsh, CEO, C&W Worldwide, commented: "This investment further strengthens our commitment and ability to serve our enterprise customers on a global scale. We are committed to providing the best levels of service and strive to meet the needs of our customers in growing markets, such as the Middle East and Africa. We understand this market and can provide local customers with relevant SLAs in a manner very different to those seen elsewhere in the world."
