Sharaf and Canon say there is a growing market trend of consumers upgrading from DSC to DSLR photography.

Canon and Sharaf DG have joined forces to launch what the pair is calling "the largest DSLR Zone in the Middle East".

The partnership will see Sharaf house a permanent stand at its store in Dubai's Times Square Mall offering the complete range of Canon DSLR cameras, lenses and accessories.

Products experts will be on hand to provide advice about DSLR photography, as both companies look to cash in on a growing market trend for upgrades from DSC to DSLR upgrades.

Sharaf hopes the store will be instrumental in increasing its engagement with amateur photographers and provide them with an "interactive platform" to discuss DSLR photography.

"The ‘Canon DSLR Zone' is instrumental in empowering creativity and nurturing the region's evolving photography community by imparting valuable insights on DSLR technology," stated Ateeq Shamsi, sales and marketing director for National Stores, the UAE distributor for Canon Middle East.

Mudassir Ahmed, category manager at Sharaf DG, claims the partnership reaffirms its commitment to providing local consumers with access to new technology.

"This concept reaffirms our commitment to providing the highest standards of support to the UAE's strong photography community. Sharaf DG will be the one-stop destination store for all DSC photographers wanting to take their photography to the next level as well as established DSLR users," said Ahmed.
