McAfee and Brocade add partner support to joint solutions
The partnership with McAfee is focused both on open standards solutions and helping the channel to deliver them profitably, says Giddins.

McAfee and Brocade are promoting the value of their jointly developed network-based security solutions to their channel partners.

The two companies have been working together to develop simplified and interoperable network security solutions, which are intended to deliver advanced functionality and protection, while maintaining ease of deployment and ease of management.

To support the new solutions, McAfee and Brocade have created joint channel enablement programs, including marketing and sales programs, to help their partner base to deliver the solutions.

"Brocade and McAfee are not only committed to developing best-in-class network security solutions, but we are also steadfast in jointly defining the channel routes-to-market for these solutions," said Amanda Giddins, EMEA channel director at Brocade. "Through this partnership, Brocade and McAfee are united through a common vision to provide opportunities for the channel to increase profitability via the delivery of simplified, open standards-based network security solutions."

Among the product features developed by Brocade and McAfee are a single user interface in Brocade IronView Network Manager (INM) to monitor network health and security devices; policy-driven, automated security responses to events generated by McAfee solutions; advanced server load balancing to maximize firewall performance, availability and scalability; and seamless integration of McAfee intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to inspect Brocade network traffic.

"The pairing of Brocade's industry-leading networking technologies with the comprehensive portfolio of McAfee security products presents customers with unprecedented levels of end-to-end threat protection," said Alex Thurber, senior vice president of Worldwide Channels and Commercial Sales at McAfee. "Pulling from the strengths of both companies, this strategic partnership has resulted in new joint solutions that leverage network intelligence to provide simplified monitoring and management of IT security in a way that has never been done before."
