National Bank of Kuwait updates business intelligence operation
iCreate chosen to overhaul bank’s existing system to cope with recent growth
The National Bank of Kuwait has undertaken a complete revamp of its business intelligence system, as part of a wider strategy to give its IT operations a facelift.
NBK has operations in retail banking, corporate banking and international trade, as well as investment and private banking, all of which had begun to outgrow the existing system.
The bank awarded the contract to overhaul its business intelligence operations to India-based iCreate, according to the IBS Journal. According to the National Bank of Kuwait’s IT enterprise architect, Hani Khali, iCreate was chosen to install a new Operational Data Store (ODS) – effectively a data warehouse – to consolidate information from all over the bank’s existing IT infrastructure, which in turn allows it to conduct its business intelligence operations more efficiently.
According to the National Bank of Kuwait, the system is now live in all of the countries it operates in, though some locations still only have limited functionality. However, while the company is keen to get the new system up and running, it is also approaching the rollout with a level of caution, but expects it to be completed before the end of the year.
