Improved platform support boosts vendor’s DR efforts
Forrester report ranks vendors on their business continuity and resiliency services
A new report from Forrester on the state of the rapidly-growing disaster recovery market has hailed IBM for its market strategy and services offering.
The Forrester Wave: Disaster Recovery Service Providers report included six service providers in its assessment. Each vendor was thoroughly evaluated across 64 criteria, broken down into three main areas: current offering, strategy, and market presence.
The report called IBM ‘a worldwide global DR services provider with more than 154 facilities globally and extensive IT, work-area, mobile, and quick-ship recovery services.'
"With a sizable number of consultants, it also has very strong consultative services to support the entire business continuity planning/disaster recovery planning (BCP/DRP) life cycle," the report stated. "It has more than 1,600 employees in its business continuity and recovery services business. Since the last update of this Forrester Wave, IBM improved its platform support, its advanced DR support, and additional services such as emergency communications."
IBM's business continuity and resiliency services help ensure uninterrupted operations across all layers of the business, as well as helping businesses avoid, prepare and recover from disruption.
"We believe this comprehensive analysis reflects both IBM's strategy and technology strengths complemented by the breadth of our offerings and our geographic coverage," said Joanne Olsen, general manager of IBM Business Continuity and Resiliency Services.
"We are honoured to be recognized for our success and continue to focus on smarter opportunities to help enterprises make their business and IT operations more resilient, secure, and efficient," she said.
