Qtel selects Ericsson Service Delivery Platform
Ericsson SDP to help Qtel Group to deliver new multimedia services to customers
Qtel Group has selected Ericsson's Service Delivery Platform (SDP), to help it improve mobile delivery of data and multimedia services to customers.
The platform, which will eventually be extended to Qtel Group customers across the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia, will enable Qtel to create, sell, and manage multimedia services and multi-play offering, to meet growing demand for data services such as music and social networking.
The SDP will allow Qtel to adapt offerings quickly and easily to meet changing commercial needs and to target the most appropriate user segments to ensure effective transformation of services into revenue; along with automated business processing for high quality service delivery.
Dr Nasser Marafih, CEO of the Qtel Group, commented: "As one of the region's leading telecommunications provider, we are determined to bring innovative, attractive new services to our customers by identifying their areas of interest and customizing solutions to meet their needs. We expect that our partnership with Ericsson for their Service Delivery Platform, will help us to achieve this goal by providing our customers with instant access to their different social networking tools, keeping them in touch and up to date all the time.
"We have made some significant announcements at this year's GSMA Mobile World Congress and our tie-up with Ericsson on the service delivery platform will bring some of these announcements to life, including mobile social networking and mobile music," he added.
