New racing title features bonus Facebook options
Activision's Blur slated for May 25 release on XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms
Activision Publishing's new multi-platform game Blur will be integrated with Facebook so gamers can challenge friends and boast achievements directly on the social networking platform.
Blur drops gamers straight into racing action where they can collect power-ups including nitro speed boosts, defensive shields and landmines to beat rivals.
Blur features online multiplayer modes, supporting competitive and cooperative gameplay for up to 20 racers, including team racing and a 4-player split-screen. Players can choose opponents by sending game challenges to their friends on Facebook as well as post in-game photos, racing stats, unlockable items and more on their profile.
"Blur is the first multi-platform videogame that connects the television to Facebook, and for the first time, videogame audiences on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC will be able to link their console gameplay to their network of friends," said Robert Kotick, CEO, Activision Blizzard. "Facebook has become a fantastic platform for videogames and Blur elevates it even further."
Blur will be released on the Microsoft Xbox 360 console, as well as PlayStation 3 and the PC platform on May 25th and has an ESRB rating of ‘10+',
