Dell has appointed a new regional sales manager to head up its operations in Saudi Arabia.

Mahmoud Abbas will take on the role, having previously managed Dell's commercial business in the Eastern province of the kingdom.

Abbas' new role will see him work closely with Dell's Saudi channel partners, and target large commercial customers.

Dave Brooke, General Manager, Dell ME commented: "Abbas brings a wealth of expertise to this role and we look forward to the valuable insight he will provide as Saudi Arabia's Regional Sales Manager. We are confident that with his extensive background and existing experience within the company, Abbas will make an immediate impact on the team, continuing to drive Dell's customer experience and support CIOs in achieving the efficiency they need."

Abbas, who will be based in Riyadh, said: "As regional sales manager, it is my responsibility to build a fantastic customer and partner experience, and my attention will focus on building new business whilst developing new channels and expanding relationships with our existing reseller and distribution partners. These are high priorities for Dell and clearly demonstrate our unwavering commitment to our customers.

"Dell's efficient enterprise solutions, in which modular professional services play a key role, help IT managers and CIO's meet one of their most pressing challenges of freeing up budget from maintenance, or "keeping the lights on,"  to focus more on driving innovation in their business. Dell's Professional Services offerings help customers allow customers to do just this," he added.
