Tandberg is aiming to bring full telepresence to the desktop or home office, with the launch of its new EX90 personal telepresence solution.

The EX90 features a 24 inch screen with full high definition, which can connect to any standards-based video or telepresence system, to give full 1080p30 resolution.

The screen has a built-in PrescisionHD camera, with 90 degree tilt so that users can share documents placed flat on the desktop.

The system also includes a separate 8 inch ‘inTouch' touchscreen interface device, which removes the need for a remote controller, and makes setting up calls and accessing features easier.

With Tandberg ‘MultiSite' users can add up to two other participants to a call, with all visible on the screen, or can add a second monitor which can be used to share digital data or presentations at the same time as keeping the face to face video open. The EX90 system can also cut down on the number of desktop devices, by acting as a standard PC monitor, and a phone through an add on handset for audio.

Munzer Aloush, Tandberg regional manager for the Gulf, Iraq, & Pakistan, commented: "The EX90 integrates the superior audio and visual quality and signature touch screen interface of TANDBERG Telepresence into a sleek desktop solution that will change the way executives and experts communicate and collaborate."

"Business driven by emails and phone calls is a thing of the past. Today's executives do not have time to wait for answers, or to be misunderstood. They must be able to connect face-to-face with anyone at anytime, at a moment's notice, to accelerate decisions and drive business in real time," said Fredrik Halvorsen, Tandberg CEO.

"The EX90 enables executives to engage with customers, experts and employees as if they were sitting across the desk. This highly versatile system is built for the executive experience - with a sleekly designed large HD display for natural interaction that is also incredibly simple to use," he added.
