Etisalat enters VAS deal with Comviva
Etisalat set to offer additional video, music and messaging solutions through partnership with Comviva.
UAE incumbent Etisalat has entered a partnership agreement with Comviva, an Indian company that specialises in value added services for the telecoms sector.
As part of the deal, Comviva will provide various value added services such as mobile voice and video applications, and music and messaging solutions, across all of Etisalat’s operations.
Deployment of the new services will start immediately and will be made available to Etisalat customers in the coming months, the operator said in a statement.
Comviva, which works with operators in around 80 countries, also offers value added services such texting by voice, and virtual SIM, which allows mobile users to have more than one identity, or more than one person to use one handset.
Essa al Hadda, Etisalat’s group CMO, said that the operator “more than doubled” its revenues from content, data and VAS across its global operations in 2009. “With Comviva we are confident to attract and retain customers and grow this important segment of our strategy even further,” he said.
