Samsung Monte promises full touchscreen handset performance at affordable price
Samsung has announced the local launch of its new Monte S5620 handset, that has been designed to offer a full touchscreen phone at an affordable price.
The Monte has a ‘sleek, organic design with a sophisticated and glossy look' according to Samsung, with full touchscreen capability, with a retail price of AED 959 ($261).
The handset has a 3.0 inch WQVGA LCD screen, with 16:9 landscape viewing, with functions accessed through Samsung's TouchWiz 2.0 Plus User Interface (UI). It comes with support for a range of popular applications and services, such as native support for Facebook and MySpace, Twitter and Bebo widgets, and multi-IM capability. It also includes GPS supported by Google Latitude, along with geo-tagging of pictures.
For connectivity, the Monte include wi-fi, Exchange ActiveSync for access to Outlook email accounts, and Google Sync, to simultaneously update social networks schedules and Outlook calendar, and the handset also packs in a 3.2 megapixel camera.
