WD picks Tandberg exec to run branded business
Jean-Charles Herpeux brought in following retirement of Didier Trassaert
Western Digital has plucked Jean-Charles Herpeux from Tandberg Data to replace the senior director of its branded products business unit, Didier Trassaert, who recently retired.
Herpeux, who served as senior VP EMEA sales and marketing at Tandberg, will now take charge of the hard drive vendor's branded business in the entire EMEA region.
Herpeux's role will involve managing the unit's overall business strategy in EMEA and overseeing its sales activities, reporting into worldwide VP, Tony Tate.
"His in-depth knowledge of both the European channel and retail markets will benefit WD in meeting the needs of a dynamic and fast-growing marketplace," stated Tate.
"His former experience in both large global companies, as well as in start-ups, will help us structure and develop further our branded activity in EMEA, which has enjoyed a tremendous growth in the recent years."
Herpeux is well-schooled in the ways of the storage channel. Prior to founding LED device manufacturer ACOL Technologies, he worked for Quantum Corporation for seven years. He has also held management positions at Seagate and Control Data.
