No iPad launch date for Middle East yet
Apple will release first iPads in the US on April 3rd and then in nine other international markets
Apple will launch the first iPads in the United States on April 3rd but there's still no word on when the new tablet device will be available in the Middle East.
The company recently announced that the iPad would hit stores in the US early April, followed by nine other international markets later in the month including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Local spokespeople for the company revealed there was no date confirmed for a Middle East launch at present. The highly-anticipated product is described as a "revolutionary device" that can browse the web, play multimedia and let users access e-books as well as the Apple App Store that has nearly 150,000 applications.
A recent YouGov survey showed that people in the Middle East were the most likely to buy the iPad, with 58% of respondents from the region claiming they would definitely or probably buy the device, compared to just 17% in Germany, 13% in the USA and only 7% in Denmark and the UK.
