Specialist workshops aimed at Middle East channel
Fortnightly vendor-neutral workshops for resellers and distributors to begin in April
Resellers and distributors are being offered the chance to get to grips with the issues that matter most to their businesses at a series of channel workshops which will be launched in the region next month.
The fortnightly ‘Channel Buzz' workshops - created by Mita Srinivasan, owner of technology-focused PR agency Market Buzz, and independent channel consultant Guy Whitcroft - will cover topics such as logistics, cash flow, business communications and human resources.
The first series of workshops is aimed at managers and owners of resellers in the UAE and will focus on helping senior management understand some of the best industry practices and resources available in the region.
Channel Buzz will kick off on 13th April at the BurJuman Rotana in Dubai, with the topics of the initial workshops set to be determined by a poll on LinkedIn, where an online group has been set up.

Whitcroft insists the Middle East channel is often so busy focusing on its daily needs that it is easy to miss opportunities to grow the business or improve internal practices.
"From my association with events like Digital Consumer Channel in Fujairah and Distree in Monaco, I have noticed that workshops are popular because they are vendor-neutral and deal with topics that are relevant to their needs," he said. "I think we have access to a lot of resources in the Middle East and understand enough about the market to help them grow."
Channel Buzz workshops will typically run from 9am to 11am and will be led by top executives in their fields. Although they will initially start in Dubai, they may be extended to other markets depending on demand.
The organisers say there will be a "nominal cost" for joining the workshops to ensure only genuine participation.
