Alfa and Ericsson sign strategic partnership to improve network performance
Lebanese mobile operator Alfa has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Ericsson, to aid with network performance and expansion plans.
Alfa, which is managed by Orascom Telecom, almost doubled its subscriber base over the past year, and the partnership will provide customised solutions to improve network performance across Lebanon, along with planning and roll out of further network infrastructure.
Ericsson has provided core network audits to Alfa, along with highway coverage optimization. The company has also performed a cluster optimization, which divides the country into ten clusters, with the aim of focusing on improving service by clusters. Ericsson will also look to improve overall network and radio frequency network performance, for further performance enhancements.

"Ericsson completed several auditing sites and will support Alfa to increase the number of sites in order to improve both the coverage as well as the quality of service. This is due to the extensive software optimization carried out and the implementation of a new frequency plan," said Tony Abboud, key account manager, Ericsson.
