Golden ducks and googlies galore as vendor brings UAE partners together for cricket contest

APC distributors bat for UAE bragging rights
APC’s Tushar Choudhury says that hosting a cricket tournament was the ideal way to sign off the year after a challenging 2009 for the channel.

Rival APC distributors have been slugging it out on the cricket field following an end-of-year tournament organised by the critical power and cooling services vendor in Dubai.

Representatives from Aptec, Redington, Track Distribution, KIT, Westcon and Logicom all picked up their bats and donned their pads for the one-day knock-out competition.

The Track Distribution team proved it had the best batting and bowling skills of APC's UAE distribution channel, triumphing over parent group Aptec in a hard-fought final.

With most distributors running staff cricket teams outside of work hours, APC claims the tournament was a natural way to bring down the curtain on what it calls a "difficult and stress filled year".

"It's been a challenging year for all of us in 2009 and we cannot thank the partners enough for the support and commitment they have shown throughout the year," stated Tushar Choudhury, marketing manager for the Middle East and Turkey at APC by Schneider Electric.

"APC has always been channel driven and this was a small gesture on our part to get them all together and have some fun," he said.
