Ahmad Qasem is leaving Al Yousuf Digital, but intends on remaining in the channel.

Al Yousuf Digital boss Ahmad Qasem will leave his position at the company today, bringing an end to his 12-year tenure at the Epson and ViewSonic distributor.

Qasem has transformed Al Yousuf into one of the largest IT distributors in the region with annual sales in excess of US$160m and developed the company's VAR base by building a strong corporate hardware portfolio encompassing printers, networking gear, displays and external storage.

Qasem confirmed that he intends to stay in the IT business and that there will be a "next chapter", which he will reveal shortly.

It is thought that he could follow the route of other executives by moving into consulting or regional channel development, where he can call upon his extensive experience of the distribution business.

Al Yousuf has sales offices and showrooms in Dubai, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi and Cairo and serves around 450 resellers on an active basis.
