Red Hat announces new partner status
Open source software specialist has good news for channel players focusing on specialisation
Red Hat has announced the availability of a ‘virtualisation specialist ’ status for its existing partners in the EMEA region.
The open source protagonist claims that by extending its virtualisation expertise into its broad partner network, customers will benefit from reduced hardware and operational costs and increased flexibility.
Red Hat says "several" partners have already seized the opportunity to become virtualisation domain experts, particularly in Europe.
The accreditation is available to partners with an understanding of the vendor's virtualisation offerings at both a sales and technical level.
In order to gain the certification, resellers must provide two customer references for implementation services using Red Hat virtualisation products, demonstrate project experience with other virtualisation offerings and employ at least two Red Hat certified virtualisation administrators (RHCVAs) and two Red Hat certified virtualisation sales people (RHCVSPs).
"We provide specialties within the Red Hat EMEA Partner Programme to assist our partners in meeting the demands of their customers," stated Petra Heinrich, director of channels and partners EMEA at Red Hat.
"This is a great opportunity for the Red Hat channel partners to become leaders in their markets with differentiated, cost-effective virtualisation technology," added Heinrich.
Last month, Red Hat announced the general availability of its enterprise virtualisation for servers, including a standalone hypervisor based on KVM technology and server virtualisation management tools.
