More than 60,000 people are expected to register for Oracle's EMEA Applications Virtual Tradeshow, scheduled to take place on November 17th.

With the theme ‘Smart Strategies for New Times', the virtual event will have a strong focus on the globalisation strategy Oracle has been promoting recently, showing companies how to remain competitive in today's tough economic climate.

"We believe that when there's a crisis, there's always an opportunity associated with it," stated AbdulRahman AlThehaiban, Oracle VP for Middle East and Africa, when quizzed about the pressure to stage a successful event when everyone still has the financial crisis on their minds.

"We are very enthusiastic about it (the event). The way we see it is that we don't have a pressure to succeed; we believe it's one of a kind and it's the first time its being done in this part of the world. Our objective is to make sure that we get the right benefits to the right audience," he added.

The event is targeted at C-level executives, directors in operations, HR and strategy, IT decision makers and public officials in city planning and development roles.

Registration for the virtual tradeshow is free, with sessions that will look at specific areas including HR, customer relationship management, performance management and public sector, and strategies that companies can use to develop corporate excellence in.

The virtual trade show will also provide 'attendees' with the opportunity to interact with both presenters and other delegates in real-time through special networking lounges, and to participate in Q&A sessions with speakers.

The show, which will be available in English, French and German, will also present participants with a wealth of information about Oracle solutions and partner solutions from virtual booths, with multimedia presentations, whitepapers and other data available to access live or to download for viewing after the event.

According to AlThehaiban, the technology that enables the online event will be easy to grasp for users, without any requirement to add additional software other than Adobe Flash, if the user does not have it already.

"The most important thing is this is the first time we're running an event like this in the Middle East. Such trade shows would be fully in compliance with the globalisation strategy that we have been promoting using our offerings," added AlThehaiban.
