In the week that Lexmark launched the world’s first line of web-connected touch screen printers, the company’s General Manager for the Middle East is suggesting that the company has further aimed to portray the message of doing more with less at GITEX Technology Week 2009.

Speaking to GITEX Times, Mohammed Ali Addarrat, General Manager for Lexmark in the Middle East, says that Lexmark’s involment at GITEX this year has involved two elements, of which the first has been the launch of its new products for office solutions.

The company this week presented its 2009 inkjet all-in-one (AIO) product line and it showcased five new AIO inkjets for small to medium sized businesses. The new line includes a Web-connected touch screen AIO with Lexmark’s myTouch capacitive 4.3’ touch screen technology. Lexmark’s myTouch, with what is called SmartSolutions technology, includes easy-to-read graphical icons for basic AIO functions.

Addarrat describes Lexmark’s second focus at GITEX as follows: “The second element is really to preach the message of print less save more... print less to save costs but print less to save the environment as well, and to save more by efficiently managing your fleet as an enterprise,” says Addarrat.

Other activities that Lexmark has got involved with this year have included hosting workshops on how anybody can save money on printing.

GITEX has also been a good marketing platform for Lexmark as Addarrat says: “The other highlight is our ability to host some of our key customers around the region, to have them come here see our products and to also demonstrate the solutions that we have on our multifunction devices. The type of people that are coming are different: more business people, more traders, more sellers, distributors, solutions providers and actual end users.”
