Managed IT services outfit sets sights on SMBs
CEO of eHosting DataFort says simpler offerings will help to target SMB customers
The CEO of eHosting DataFort, one of the Gulf’s leading managed IT and advisory services firms, says the company has enjoyed a 25% rise in client numbers so far in 2009.
Currently the firm has more than 575 customers in various vertical segments, and Yasser Zeineldin is eyeing at least 50 further recruits in 2010, particularly in the SMB market.
“That’s a pretty significant increase in our line of business; our core businesses are doing very well,” he says.
“The number of clients is our most important metric, and we are looking to do a lot more work with SMBs in the future,” he adds. “We plan on making our offerings simpler and easier to digest, to make them more attractive to firms that may not be aware of what we can offer them.”
eHosting DataFort is a fully-owned subsidiary of Tecom Investment, a member of Dubai Holding. It boasts a series of world-class data services centres providing 24-hour managed operations across the globe. Currently the firm’s clients include Emirates Airlines, SPICA, Dubai Financial Market, Arab Bank, Kuwait National Petroleum Company and DUBAL among others.
Zeineldin also called for greater public and private sector efforts to increase awareness of the IT services opportunities available to SMBs.
“I think we can engage more with government and semi-government bodies to interact with SMBs, whether it’s through the chambers of commerce or through the economic departments,” says Zeineldin. “It’s a public and a private responsibility to work on lowering barriers to entry for SMBs.”
