Du weighs up SaaS options

Du will look into offering SaaS services after announcing a strategic alliance with business software firm Cordys.

The operator is expected to begin trials with selected enterprise customers, testing mashup applications (MashApps) using the SaaS Deployment Framework and the Cordys Process Factory.

MashApps by Cordys are applications that combine the capabilities of two or more existing systems to create something entirely new. Cordys offers businesses a MashApps Composer to create, run and manage their on-demand applications.

Du's EVP Farid Faraidooni says that the company is "currently in the process of evaluating and selecting business software applications for deployment on SaaS for enterprises. Thanks to the Cordys Process Factory technology this can be achieved so rapidly and easily that it has been possible to demonstrate a number of these new services in weeks."

Cordys CEO Jan Baan believes that traditional application models no longer satisfy today's business climate and that, by adopting cloud technology, companies can remain flexible and continuously optimise their business processes.
