Signs agreement with iBwave to use its flagship wireless design solutions

Du plans wireless connectivity for high-rises
Du is planning for wireless connectivity solutions in high-rise buildings in the UAE.

UAE telco Du has signed an agreement with software solutions firm iBwave Solutions to provide indoor wireless connectivity to high-rise buildings in the country.

In-building wireless networks will provide access to data to support mobile applications and cater to growing demand for connectivity in commercial buildings. Using iBwave's RF-vu software and solutions in particular, Du can minimise any possible errors and obtain accurate results through specialised monitoring and reporting tools.

"du and iBwave share a common goal to provide customers with state-of-the-art wireless mobility services in the UAE. RF-vu will enable us optimize network efficiency to deliver reliable and innovative services that fulfill our promise to enable better user experience of various services for our customers," commented Hatem Bamatraf, senior VP of Network Development at Du.

"It is an honour that du selected our flagship product as their official standard in-building platform to design and plan wireless networks of remarkable high-rise buildings that are surging in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which are mapped as worldwide icons of innovative architecture," said Mario Bouchard, president and CEO of iBwave Solutions in a company statement.

The agreement is a big win for Canadian-based iBwave who have been keen to offer their solutions in the Middle East region where a number of high-rise constructions are being undertaken, all of which have the potential to now be equipped with wireless technologies.
