ACC invests in infrastructure revamp
Juniper Networks, SAP and Nortel form the collective of vendor names that have gone into shoring-up the infrastructure at the Arabian Construction Company.
Dubai-based systems integration outfit Alpha Data, has completed an infrastructure development project at the Arabian Construction Company (ACC).
The deployment was started in May this year and the remit was to centralise the operational processes of ACC's business units and construction sites, based outside of the UAE. The end-user selected a combination of SAP, Nortel and Juniper solutions to answer both the business software and infrastructure needs of its organisation.
Voice and data services are now delivered throughout ACC's operations by way of Nortel's core switching and edge switching. This has given the end-user connectivity throughout its distributed network in addition to allowing for video conferencing provisions.
Mazen Al Mamlouk, IT and finance manager at the Arabian Construction Company says that the implementation looks likely to significantly reduce operation expenditure for the company.
"Alpha Data's ability to seamlessly bring together the variety of technologies and solutions provided us with considerable reductions in our operational cost," said Al Mamlouk.
Juniper Networks solutions were also utilised as part of the project for the security infrastructure and secured remote access in addition to the network Infrastructure. The integrator explains that the technology was strictly used to deliver secured redundant access to ACC's data centre.
"Working closely with ACC's management and IT Department, Alpha Data was able to ensure that we guaranteed the best optimal solution and design, with full consideration given to the minimum downtime permissible for fluid business operations," asserted Sandeep Kokroo, manager of the networking division at Alpha Data.
