Etisalat slashes iPhone 3G prices
The 8GB iPhone will now be available for AED 2,399 through Etisalat.

Etisalat has reduced prices for the iPhone 3G smartphone in a move that lends some credibility to rumours swirling in various tech forums that the new iPhone 3GS will be launched at GITEX this year.

The prepaid iPhone 3G 8GB model will now be available for AED 2,399 compared to its previous price of AED 2,680, while the 16GB model has been reduced to AED 2,775 from its earlier AED 3,055 price tag.

Etisalat hopes to lure new iPhone 3G customers to its network with the promise of a free 250MB monthly data package for six months and one free Wasel SIM card when buying either the 8GB or 16GB device.

The telco today also introduced two new data only packages at 5GB and 10GB for post-paid customers.

Customers that don't want to splurge all at once for the device and service can choose to pay monthly instead with the cheapest plan being offered with the iPhone 3G (8GB) starting at AED 415 per month for 5GB without any upfront charges.
