The Middle East is the fastest growing market for IT security products, according to value added distributor Adaox. The firm is looking to showcase its growing portfolio of security products at this year's GITEX Technology Week, including its popular ESET range of antivirus software products.

Neo Neophytou, Managing Director of Adaox Middle East, praised the event as one of the top three exhibitions in the world: "It helps us to create the brand awareness and it also helps us to meet with our existing and potential partners. People come from different parts of the Middle East for GITEX and see it as a platform to know more about new products and trends in the IT market."

Adaox's main focus at the event will be on the ESET range of security products, which provides comprehensive protection against viruses, spam and the many forms of malware in existence.

The firm claims its software occupies one of the lowest memory footprints in the market, leaving system resources free for more demanding enterprise applications to be utilised.

"We will also be exhibiting Cyberoam UTM appliances, Kerio Mail Server and WinRoute Firewall and Webspy. Our main focus will be on adding more partners to our network and generating business leads," adds Neophytou.

While there is little doubt that the global recession has affected demand for IT products and services, he believes that this region has escaped the worst elements of the crisis - principally because of its central location and Dubai's role as a major trading hub.

"The Middle East is a very important market today as Dubai is the IT hub for the entire Middle East and African countries," reasons Neophytou.

"Many markets in Middle East have withstood the recession that affected European countries in a major way and, moreover, many Middle East and African countries are investing heavily on IT security that will keep up the momentum of IT spending in this market. So the Middle East is the fastest growing market for us," he asserts.
