Dubai Internet City's objectives at this year's GITEX Technology Week are simple - to reinforce its position as one of the region's largest technology clusters and give its partners a platform to raise their profile in the market.
"Our pavilion at GITEX 2009 will reflect our status as a vital technology cluster that has enormously facilitated the transformation of the regional industry," explains Malek Al Malek, Executive Director at Dubai Internet City (DIC). "We will also be joined by several of our leading business partners who will use this opportunity to showcase their respective companies."
DIC, which is a member of TECOM Investments and the region's largest managed ICT cluster, is certainly no stranger to the GITEX format. This will be the organisation's ninth consecutive year of participation at the exhibition and it still regards it as the ultimate forum to establish contact with other industry players and witness the latest developments in the ICT industry.
Al Malek is hoping DIC's strong presence will culminate in the sort of success that it enjoyed last year when its partners reported "significant" business leads from the event.
"As the Gulf region's pre-eminent event for the ICT industry, GITEX 2009 will see global brands, multinational corporations and technology leaders converging in Dubai for a week of product launches and key industry meetings," comments Al Malek. "There will also be opportunities for networking and building sound partnerships with industry professionals.
DIC also believes GITEX will serve as a reminder that the Middle East boasts one of the fastest-growing IT markets in the world.
He continues: "As the key industry event in this region, we use this opportunity to showcase our unique service offerings and to collaborate with our business partners. GITEX's growth over the years is a direct reflection of the exponential growth of the ICT industry in the region, and as such, is an important event for DIC."
