The free upgrade will help customers to migrate to more efficient converged Communications.

Aastra is offering users of the Ericsson MD110 Enterprise Convergence Communication System a free software upgrade and discounted enhancements.

The free software upgrade, from release BC9 and upwards to MX-ONE TSW (BC13), is intended to give customers in the Middle East and North Africa region a smooth and cost-efficient migration to converged communications.

Aastra acquired Ericsson's Enterprise business last, and the offer is part of it's commitment to support Ericsson customers, the company said.

The special offer also include discounts on expansions or add-ons ordered together with the upgrade; and a range of new digital and IP terminals, as well as productivity enhancing applications and mobility solutions, which can be used with the upgraded system.

Dr. Roger Hage, vice president Aastra Telecom Middle East, commented: "We take our responsibility of supporting the Ericsson Enterprise customers seriously. When Aastra acquired the Enterprise Business from Ericsson last year, we not only acquired all the enterprise products, the research and development, the intellectual property rights, the manufacturing and marketing, but also committed to protect the Ericsson enterprise customers' investments. We are in a unique position to offer genuine spare parts and non-disruptive software upgrades to MD110 customers for a smooth migration into the converged world of unified communications."

The upgrade offer runs until the end of October, and is available from Aastra resellers or the company's web site.
