Redington value arm reaches out to GCC resellers

Redington’s value division is vowing to repeat recent roadshows in the UAE and Qatar elsewhere in the Middle East as it looks to strengthen ties with the Middle East channel.
More than 80 resellers attended the two events in Abu Dhabi and Doha, which saw Redington showcase the latest technologies from HP ProCurve, Sonicwall and Red Hat.
Delegates from all three vendors were also on hand to introduce their products and outline the channel incentive programmes on offer to resellers in the region.
Roadshows are now being planned for the remaining GCC countries, with the distributor promising to inform partners of the various cross-sell and up-sell opportunities that exist across the brands that it carries.
“Redington’s value division is a young division and our success lies with the success of our partners and it’s imperative for us to engage with them regularly through the online and offline media,” said Ramkumar Balakrishnan, general manager for the value unit in the Middle East and Africa. “Looking at the current business environment, we would continue to invest along with our vendors to reach out to our partners to enable them to do more business.”
Redington launched its value division three years ago, developing the business around networking, storage, security and software. During that time it has steadily built relationships with a number of vendors, including Avaya, Ascom, Cisco, Linksys, Microsoft, and Trend Micro.
