Rawabi Marketing International has selected software developer Epicor to build new ERP
Saudi Arabian chemical manufacturer, Rawabi Marketing International (RMI) has selected software developer Epicor to build it a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Part of the $200 million Al Arifi Group, RMI manufactures and distributes chemicals for a wide range of industries including the dairy and oil field verticals to customers across the GCC.
The new system, based on version 9 of Epicor’s ERP platform will be used to streamline the company’s existing operations and integrate front and back-end systems in RMI offices across the Kingdom, as well as Egypt. Epicor touts the system as being Web 2.0 aware to provide users with a more cohesive and dynamic application experience. Users will also be able to interface a range of handheld devices including BlackBerries and iPhones with RMI’s ERP systems.
Hosam Hamdi, head of the IT department at RMI said: “Our company is growing at a breakneck speed and we realised that to appropriately and successfully manage customer expectations, we had to leverage a next generation SOA platform that was reliable and scalable. Epicor emerged as the preferred choice after a rigorous request for proposal process (RFP) evaluating several other competitors.”
Basil Daniells, regional sales director for Epicor in the Middle East, North Africa and India added: “We are pleased to partner with one of the leading distribution and manufacturing companies in the Kingdom. Epicor understands the challenges facing a fast growing company with a diverse portfolio like RMI, and we believe our solution is well-suited to their business.”
