Westcon cabling expert switches to Siemon
Siemon recruits Iyer Sivakumar from Westcon Middle East to act as its sales manager for the region
Network infrastructure specialist Siemon has recruited Iyer Sivakumar from Westcon Middle East to act as its sales manager for the region.
In his new role, Sivakumar will be responsible for co-ordinating Siemon’s commercial operation in the Middle East and developing its local channel strategy.
Despite the conservative spending climate, Siemon has tasked Sivakumar with increasing the company’s revenue and margin from the Middle East. His priorities also include building brand awareness with consultants in the IT market to influence end-users and recruiting suitable VARs to join its Certified Installer Programme.
Prior to joining Siemon, Sivakumar served as a key member of Westcon Middle East’s structured cabling business unit, where he worked with a number of vendors in the Gulf territories. His role involved developing business for the company by selecting and supporting vendor partners for customer projects.
Sivakumar is confident that his time at Westcon, and a previous spell with a systems integrator in Dubai, makes him well-qualified to lead Siemon’s assault on the market.
“The company has best of breed products, and world-class people that lead innovation globally for the networking industry,” he stated. “I intend to use all my industry knowledge and understanding of specific factors in the Middle East’s technical marketplace to really drive success.”
Siemon manufactures high-performance network cabling solutions and offers a comprehensive suite of copper and fibre cabling systems.
Its main distributor in the Middle East is Mart Network Solutions, but it also works with Avianco Communication in Lebanon and MBK in Egypt, according to the list of EMEA distributors published on its website.
