MEEZA open Tier 3 datacentre in Qatar

Managed IT services and solutions provider, MEEZA has announced the opening of a new Tier 3 datacentre at the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP).

The new datacentre is known as M-Vault 1 and based on Tier 3 specifications, according to MEEZA, which by the Uptime Institute definition means the centre must have all the components of a Tier 1 and Tier 2 facility, along with multiple independent distribution paths serving IT equipment and dual-power for everything inside the datacentre.

The first services up and running at M-Vault 1 include managed storage, network and security as well as disaster recovery systems.

"Datacentres are both vital to the research process and a spring-board for innovative new enterprises. MEEZA's new M-Vault 1 represents an engine that will accelerate these advances in Qatar," said Dr. Eulian Roberts, managing director of QSTP.

The datacentre announcement comes just five months after MEEZA was established in partnership with the Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development.

"MEEZA has invested in this world class datacentre because we believe that IT security and availability of data are very important to our clients and this facility will enable us to deliver secure and cost-effective IT services to our client," explained Hamad Al Mannai, deputy CEO of MEEZA.
