Officials deny reports that the UAE Federal National Council website was successfully targeted by hackers

The UAE Federal National Council has dismissed “totally false and baseless” reports that its website was hacked into recently.

Yesterday, The National claimed members of a group known as the Delta Hacking Security Team breached website security to redirect FNC site visitors to another webpage displaying a triumphant message from the hackers.

Reacting to the furore it created, FNC's general secretariat said the website was regularly monitored and updated, stating that “nothing unusual was found during this time…we have not been alerted about surfing difficulties or even a hacking attempt.”

The English version of the website is currently under maintenance, which the FNC says will be fully updated soon.
