Microsoft Windows 7 beta available in Arabic
Microsoft Gulf has confirmed an Arabic beta version of the new OS is now available
The highly-publicized Windows 7 beta from Microsoft is now available in Arabic.
The new operating system claims to have a number of improvements over its XP and Vista predecessors including better performance, reliability and security.
While the English version can be downloaded directly from Microsoft’s Windows 7 page, the Arabic version needs to be accessed from its TechNet Evaluation Center. Microsoft has decided to make the beta download available to interested users till February 10, 2009.
Commenting on the launch, Wilson Xavier, Windows Client Business Group lead, Microsoft Gulf said, “As we look at Windows today, we have strong momentum behind our products and brand and we are excited about where we are headed for Windows 7.”
Microsoft is reiterating its commitment to the local market and will continue translating and providing market specific services for the Arab region.
“Microsoft offers Arabic language support across its entire product portfolio and is the next step to broadening Microsoft's outreach and empowering customers. The Arabic version of Windows 7 is identical to the English version,” added Assem Abdullah Hijazi, localization manager, Arabic Language Product Support, Microsoft MEA.
