Trend Micro to launch secure iPhone browser
Secure web browser for iPhone 3G to launch next month
Trend Micro plans to launch a secure web browser for the new Apple iPhone 3G next month.
The company’s CTO, Raimund Genes told Arabian Business that the browser will be made available in beta to enterprise customers.
Genes said the browser currently has no name, but is known internally as the “safe web browser”.
If testing goes well the browser could be available to the public in the iPhone App Store by December, he said.
Genes said there has been “high interest from customers”.
He said it was too early to say how much the application will cost.
The much-hyped iPhone 3G has been criticized for its security flaws since being released in July, with security experts reporting bugs in the Safari web browser that could leave the phone vulnerable to phishing threats.
