Microsoft launches ERP product tailored for the region

The new Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 offers full Arabic language support - a first in the ERP market.

Microsoft Dynamics, a billion dollar business with 300,000 customers worldwide, has launched its new ERP product in the region - Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009.

Offered through Microsoft Business Solutions, it is the first ERP product to offer full Arabic language support, which reflects the company's commitment to the Arab region. The Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 is an adaptable business management solution that allows companies to streamline processes and reduce operational costs.

The ERP software comes with an in-built ‘compliance centre' that provides a central view of internal processes and performance indicators, tailored for different roles in an organization. At a press conference to announce the launch, Microsoft Dynamics revealed that $450 million of its $1 billion revenue came from the Middle East and Africa region.

The company hopes to double the region's profits in the next three years, promising more vertical solutions and added investment to drive specialized regional offerings.

"We are seeing rapid growth and adoption of our products across multiple verticals in the Gulf as businesses strive to develop efficient practices to expand and build competitive advantages," said Tamer Elhamy, business solutions manager at Microsoft Gulf.
