Akhatech targets fleet managers with new technology

Initially established as an engineering and Information Technology (IT) specialist in 1998, South African company Akhatech has since recruited a formidable team of Fleet Management and Project Management Engineers, as well as IT and software development specialists.

Initially established as an engineering and Information Technology (IT) specialist in 1998, South African company Akhatech has since recruited a formidable team of Fleet Management and Project Management Engineers, as well as IT and software development specialists.

At GITEX Technology Week, Akhatech's flagship Fleet Management Program will be showcased on the company's stand. The program, known as CAMIS, is ideally designed for managing government, municipal and private fleets.

CAMIS, which was originally conceived by Akhatech software engineers in 1991, has been written specifically to assist fleet managers obtain the salient information they require to manage their fleets effectively.

According to the company, it is not simply a financial management system with some fleet management capabilities tagged on.

The program was developed specifically with input from clients specialising in fleet management services to ensure it meets the needs of this emerging industry.
