Oracle opens Beehive
New collaboration platform will plug into existing applications
Oracle has launched a new collaboration platform for enterprise, Oracle Beehive.
Beehive, an open-standards based platform, will enable businesses to plug collaboration capabilities directly into existing business applications, offering a range of solutions including workspaces, calendars, IM and email.
Terry Olkin, chief architect and vice president, Oracle Server Technology said: “Oracle Beehive is the first truly integrated collaboration platform that understands diverse modes of collaboration through a unified object model. Oracle Beehive’s robust security model and an open, integrated and extensible set of collaboration services will transform the way organizations collaborate.”
Beehive will also offer full audit capabilities, which will allow organizations to keep track of data from collaboration sessions to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
The solution will also offer robust security, with support for standards-based authentication, role-based access control, privacy, integrity protection of data and auditing.
