Microsoft serves up a gaming feast
Year end lineup of Xbox 360 game launches will be on show at Shopper.
Gaming will be Microsoft's key focus at GITEX Shopper this year. The US tech giant will, along with its partners, be showcasing a lineup of new and forthcoming games for its Xbox 360 gaming console.
A number of titles are scheduled for launch at the show, including Fable II, Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise and Rock Band 2.
Upcoming titles will also be promoted, including Gears of War 2, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, The Last Remnant, Guitar Hero World Tour, Resident Evil 5, Too Human, Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Halo Wars.
Microsoft staff are convinced this year's lineup has something for everyone. "The holiday season for Xbox 360 is jam packed with the most anticipated sequels for blockbuster titles and we are aware that locally, Gears of War 2 ranks pretty high up on that list," says Aman Sangar, product marketing manager, interactive entertainment business, Microsoft Middle East. "Whether it's music, movies or great games, Xbox 360 is home to the biggest and best out there."
Xbox 360 is Microsoft's second gaming console and was developed in co-operation with ATI (now AMD), IBM and SiS. When it was launched in November 2005, it became the first of the next generation High Definition (HD) ready consoles and to date, over 19 million units have been sold worldwide. The gaming console has gained broad popularity in the living room, as its capabilities include DVD playback and music and video content streaming, in addition to video gaming.
