Plasma TVs set to star at GITEX
Panasonic to showcase massive 150-inch plasma television.
Panasonic plans to bring its enormous 150-inch plasma high definition television - the world's largest plasma TV - to GITEX Technology Week. The company is a strong proponent of plasma screens, at a time when many rivals are focusing their investments in LCD technology.
"We're very excited to display the 150-inch plasma at GITEX Technology Week, since we are certain visitors are going to be dazzled by the screen size and clarity of image. The Middle East is an important market for consumer technology, since you have an affluent population that is keen to keep up with the latest trends," says Taeko Danno, deputy general manager of corporate communications for Panasonic Marketing Middle East.
Alongside the VIERA 150, Panasonic will release two high definition next-generation plasma televisions; its range of Evolta batteries, which were recognised by the Guinness Book of Records for being the world's longest-lasting AA batteries, new high definition camcorders and the latest additions to the Lumix range of SLR cameras.
To showcase these products and others, Panasonic Marketing Middle East will occupy a massive exhibition stand at GITEX Technology Week.
"This is the biggest consumer electronic fair in the Middle East; it's not only important for increasing revenue, but also for branding and showcasing our technology," she says.
"This year will be Panasonic's biggest presence at GITEX to date. Two years ago, we started with a display stand of around 450 square metres which was doubled last year, but this year we have even more space."
